Banana Cake

Makes 13x9 pan of cake


  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • ¾ cup sour milk (1 Tbsp lemon juice, pour milk over top)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt


  1. Mix sugar, oil, eggs, and sour cream until combined.
  2. Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to wet ingredients.
  3. Combine milk and vanilla.
  4. Mix in one banana and mash as you mix into batter. Pour in half milk mixture to slacken batter. Then repeat with second banana and second batch of milk mixture.
  5. Pour into greased 13x9 pan and bake at 350°F for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Fully cooked when toothpick comes out clean, or when cake springs back when pressed on.

Serve with cream cheese icing as a topping. Best kept for up to 3 days at room temperature or in the fridge if you like it cooled!
